I just watched an interview with Shevchenko, now back 'home' at AC Milan. Now I don't think many folk would argue with the guy's pedigree and record over the years. Ok this is just my opinion on why he moved. He wanted to go to Chelsea but Madrid kept making excuses like pay his buyout clause which is 120Million Euros, pay 40million euros etc but Chelsea were not prepared to pay.
